Part one of the college furniture tutorial coped with classroom seating. In this guide we are going to take a look at school desks and tables. So, you’ve got your students sitting on something, but exactly what are they going to write about? Most classrooms of fourth grade and above, however, most from first grade on, seat their kids at desks (rather than sitting them around tables). Most desks these days have a novel box; there are usually two types of novel boxes: closed or open. An open book box is one that you may view from either side. It’s also sometimes known as a cable book box. However, don’t let that fool you. It isn’t made of thin wire but a good piece of metal fortified with different crossbars to hold heavy textbooks and the like. The closed book box is much more common. It may be plastic or metal and is distinguished by the fact that you can not see what is inside the box unless you’re sitting at the seat. Some schools insist on the open ones so they can see what their kids have in their book boxes at all times, but most colleges don’t need this level of transparency.Flip-lid desks are the ones which have a top that flips up and opens to the compartment underneath (generally the closed variety). They have been popular school furniture in the past, but there were difficulties (read: suits ) of kids having the lid slam on their fingers, so these classroom desks are becoming more and more rare and usually not recommended. Most classroom desks come with flexible legs that will enable you to seat youngsters as small as kindergarten as old as high school (and adults). The normal desk height for everybody fourth grade and above is 30 inches (that’s measured from floor to desk top). For the smaller kids, you want the desk to correct down to 22–24 inches and perhaps smaller for toddlers. Read More
